Native American history in the state dates back as far as 1541 and African-American history as far back as 1721 so not only is the history rich but the cultural diversity as well. The perfect spot to fly fish is the White River. The inconsistencies in the water make it shallow enough to actually see the trout swim under you or see it swim bank to bank in the cool water the next. Trout love this kind of environment. The White River is also quite famous for fly fishing bream and bass. The Little Red River is noted as one of Arkansas’ world famous tail water trout streams. It’s known for the great fly-fishing opportunities it offers. Rainbow trout are stocked here by the thousands annually and periodic releases of brown trout have produced an excellent fishing.

The lake supports small mouth, largemouth, Kentucky, and white bass as well as trout, crappie, catfish, walleye, and pan fish in abundance. In close competition, offering as much variety, Greers Ferry Lake is also worth mentioning for its wide variety of bass, walleye, crappie and bream; the lake is the home of the World Walleye Classic and attracts hundreds of expert walleye anglers every year. Arkansas River traverses the state from west to east, creating the 50-mile-long Lake Dardanelle giving the opportunity of superior angling for a variety of bass and catfish species as well as crappie.
